Unlike most financial companies, Capital One's entire business model is focused on the provision of credit cards. It was among the first to bring credit cards to the mass market and is now one of the top 10 providers in the UK, with a product range that reflects the varied financial needs of its customers. A subsidiary of the US bank Capital One Financial Corporation, the Fortune 500 company is also listed on the New York stock exchange, employs 30,000 people worldwide and has around 40 million customers. It even has its own university, which runs business-related courses for its staff and offers help to fund the cost of specialist tuition an employee might want to undertake.
