The Pharmacy Guild of Australia has announced the five community pharmacies that are finalists in the 2020 Pharmacy of the Year competition and among them is Capital Chemist Chisholm.

The prestigious competition aims to find the country's top pharmacy. It acknowledges the most innovative and adaptable pharmacy businesses that strive to serve the needs and preferences of patients and the community.
The awards are the benchmark for recognising excellence in the community pharmacy industry and recognise those community pharmacies that demonstrate excellence within their pharmacy and community and foster a culture of innovation and continued business and professional development.
Capital Chemist Chisholm owner Rebecca Young said since taking over the pharmacy more than 10 years ago she had devoted time and effort into building the team and ensuring that all staff recognised they were valued as members of that pharmacy team.
"We have done a lot of work in the pharmacy and made a lot of changes and we always consult with the team and get their input into ideas and ways to continue improving what we do," she said.

"Most of our team have been with us on our business management transformation. We have invested time and energy into explaining why any changes are made and they have been there to witness the outcomes, are proud of where we have come from and what we have achieved, and are excited about the future.
"We also like to celebrate our successes and this can range from small rewards to group team building events."
The Guild Pharmacy of the Year winner will be announced on the Gold Coast in March.
