Caoimhin Kelleher earned high praise after an impressive performance in Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Thrust into a starting position after Reds no 1 Alisson Becker tested positive for Covid-19, it was a daunting stage for the 23-year-old as both sides needed a win to keep tabs on runaway league leaders Manchester City.
But the Corkman, who could do nothing about Chelsea goals from Mateo Kovacic and Christian Pulisic, showed the kind of composure that has many predicting a big future for him.
Speaking after the game, Virgil van Dijk was full of praise for the Liverpool goalkeeper.
The defender said:“I am quite a big fan of him, he is a fantastic goalkeeper, he is learning from the best in my opinion in Alisson.
"His presence is good, he is confident on the ball and he is making good saves as well. We need him right now with the COVID cases."
Kelleher's captain Jordan Henderson sang a similar tune, saying: "He's top drawer. Every time he's come in he's been fantastic.
"He's calm on the ball. We are going to need him for the next few games with Ali out."
During a thrilling match, Sky Sports commentator Gary Neville also reserved some praise for the Irish stopper.
Speaking after Kelleher made a save from a free-kick, Neville said: “He’s been very good. It’s a big ask and a big game to come into.
“I like what the goalkeeper has done, even on simple things like that. He’s looked really composed and quite calm all the way through this game.”
The highlight from Kelleher was a smart save from close-range from Pulisic when the game was finely balanced at 2-2 in the second half.
It is a result though that leaves Liverpool, who had gone two nil up after goals from Sadio Mane and Mohammed Salah, 11 points behind a City side who bookmakers now make 1/20 to defend their title.
