CAO 2021: 16 courses in Dublin universities soar above 600 point barrier

CAO applicants have been sent their first offer for entering university in the coming weeks with the entry requirements of a number of courses now surpassing the 600 point barrier

The major universities in Dublin have all seen a massive jump in points required for a range of courses. This means students that got 600 points or more may not get into their desired course.

Here are the three major Dublin Universities and the courses that have jumped to 600 points and beyond.

DCU

Dublin City University has two courses on the books that surpass the 600 point barrier. They are:

  • Global Business (USA) 613
  • Global Business (Canada) 601

Trinity College Dublin

In total, Trinity College has nine courses at 600 points or above. They are:

  • Psychology 601
  • Philosophy Political Science Economics and Socio 613
  • Law and French 602
  • Management science and information systems studies 625
  • Medicine 743
  • Dental science 625
  • Human health and disease 601
  • Pharmacy 613
  • Global Business 613

University College Dublin

Five courses in UCD surpassed the 600 point barrier this year. They are:

  • Actuarial and Financial Studies 613

  • Veterinary Medicine 601

  • Physiotherapy 601

  • Biomedical health and life sciences 613

  • Economics and finance 625
