A-listers turned out in droves for the Rocketman premiere, hitting the red carpet in their most glamorous ensembles to celebrate the Elton John biopic in style.
According to IndieWire, the screening was met with an enthusiastic standing ovation for star Taron Egerton, who plays the singer. Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden and Jamie Bell also star.
Egerton is sure to be the breakout star of Cannes if the reaction to the screening is any indication.
Luckily, he has a strong support system in place to deal with life in the public eye.
"When I have troubles in my life, I call my mum. She is rational, sane, functional, normal, and she has wisdom to impart," he told Evening Standard.
The film is said to be an "uncensored" look at John's early life. The script was written by Lee Hall, the playwright behind "Billy Elliot."
After the film's premiere, both Egerton and John were seen wiping away tears. They also showed off their famous friendship when Egerton took a moment on the red carpet to tie John's shoes.
Stars were seen on the red carpet in their Cannes finest.
Eva Longoria, and Shailene Woodley were also spotted on the carpet in equally glamorous ensembles. Fittingly, sequins reigned supreme.
The "Tiny Dancer" singer wore his premiere finery for the evening - a black suit emblazoned with an on-theme rocket ship and the words "Rocket Man" emblazoned on the back, using more than one million Swarovski crystals.
