Cannabis plants found after police close Whitehall Road

A number of cannabis plants have been found at a home in east Bristol after police closed a busy route.

Avon and Somerset police confirmed the drugs would be seized and destroyed following a raid on Whitehall Road this afternoon (February 2).

A force spokesperson said: “Western Power Distribution have attended to make the electrics in the property safe but will need to re-attend to carry out further work.

“Specialist police staff will also attend to remove and destroy the plants.”

First Bus confirmed the closure of Whitehall Road in a tweet at 11.55am today (Tuesday, February 2), explaining diversions to services 6 and 7.

The bus operator tweeted: "Due to police activity Whitehall Road by Easton Rd currently impassable.
