Cannabis farm worth £250k uncovered at address in Wishaw

A cannabis farm worth an estimated £250,000 has been recovered in Wishaw.

An address was searched under warrant on Monday following an intelligence led police operation.

A number of plants were recovered by the Lanarkshire Proactive Crime Team with an estimated street value of around a quarter of a million pounds.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the recovery and is expected to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.

Sergeant Gillian Willows from Police Scotland’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “We are committed to targeting the illegal supply of drugs in our communities and any information we receive will be taken seriously and acted upon.

"We rely on members of the public to provide us with information which we can act on. We would encourage anyone with information about suspicious activity to contact Police Scotland on 101 or if you wish to remain anonymous, to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
