Cannabis farm spanning 'multiple floors' in Nottingham city centre discovered

Two men have been arrested after a "very large" cannabis farm was uncovered in Hockley.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to East Street, Hockley, shortly after 11.40pm on Sunday, December 12 following reports of a 'disturbance'.

When they arrived two suspects were seen trying to leave the area and were detained.

Inside a property officers then found a 'very large' cannabis farm with plants spanning multiple floors.

The plants will now be removed by a specialist team and all related growing equipment will be put beyond use.

Two men, both aged 32, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and cannabis production.

Sergeant Sharon Powar, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a very large cannabis grow that will have taken a considerable amount of time and money to set up. As is often the case, our attention was drawn to this address by a noisy disturbance nearby. Officers then did a great job to bring two suspects into custody so quickly.

"Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident 830 of 12 December 2021."
