Cannabis farm, handgun and motorbikes seized in south Liverpool raids

Police made 13 arrests in a series of raids that unearthed a cannabis farm, a handgun and motorbikes.

Two men were arrested after police found a suspected firearm and cannabis during a raid at an address in Speke yesterday morning.

A number of stolen motorbikes, cash and drugs were seized during a raid at a separate address in Speke, with a stolen quad bike also seized by police in Burnage Close.

In nearby Belle Vale police police found a cannabis farm after a warrant was executed.

In total, police made 13 arrests during the day of action and seized eight vehicles. Five of the vehicles were suspected to have been stolen, police said.

The day of action formed part of the force wide Operation Vermont and included searches of open land in the area.

Police posted photographs of the suspected firearm and the vehicles seized on social media.

The force is expected to provide an update on the day of action.
