Cannabis farm growing plants worth £300,000 busted by police in Longsight

A cannabis farm growing plants worth £300,000 was busted by police in south Manchester on Saturday.

Officers dismantled the farm and 'all plants have been seized for destruction' following the raid in Longsight, police tweeted.

Police put in a cheeky joke, saying they'd be 'happy to speak' to the owners if they are missing the plants.

The tweet, put up at 3.30pm, said: "Officers discovered a cannabis farm, which has now been dismantled and all plants seized for destruction.

"If you know anyone missing 300 cannabis plants feel free to let us know we will be more than happy to speak with them. Estimated to be worth approximately £300,000."

The force also posted photos from the raid, showing hundreds of plants being grown under makeshift lighting in the factory.

Loose hanging wires are seen dangling from the ceiling, while the room has been decked out with fans for ventilation.

Police did not include any details about arrests.
