Cannabis farm found in Horden business during police raids

Cannabis plants have been found at a business in County Durham during a series of police raids.

Durham Constabulary officers found 30 plants at a property on Warren Street in Horden, which have now been dismantled.

Officers were working with Durham County Council and the fire service to check five premises as part of an operation to tackle crime.

Traffic officers also seized two untaxed vehicles, and dealt with several drivers for speeding offences.

Inspector Emma Kay, of Peterlee Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “I’m thrilled to see the positive work that comes as a result of collaboration with our partner agencies, and I hope that the visible presence of our officers acts as a deterrent to those involved in criminality.

“I would encourage anybody with information relating to criminal activity in their community to contact us on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
