Cannabis farm found growing in sheltered accommodation for OAPs

A cannabis farm was found growing in a sheltered accommodation apartment for pensioners.

Merseyside Police carried out a drug warrant at Ormerod Court, Bebington, on Monday, 18 November, where officers discovered that one of the rooms within a self-contained apartment was being used to produce cannabis.

Ormerod Court, which is owned by Riverside Housing, is made up of 30 flats for retired people over the age of 55.

The cannabis plants have now been seized and destroyed by officers after they made the discovery inside one of the flats today.

Photos show the plants growing out of plastic pots under a bright yellow light, inside what looks like a tent.
