An industrial-scale hydroponic cannabis crop worth $13 million has been discovered on a rural property at Bargo on Sydney's outskirts.

Officers raided the property on Remembrance Drive on Monday afternoon.

Police guarded the property overnight before officers returned on Tuesday and seized 4324 cannabis plants.

The plants ranged in size from seedlings to mature plants and were being cultivated in 16 large greenhouses and worksite offices.

Police also seized two shotguns.

There was no one at the property when police arrived and inquiries are continuing.
