Canelo Alvarez's Tyson Fury & Anthony Joshua verdicts amid heavyweight fight questions

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has already issued his verdict on heavyweight duo Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, amid questions on whether he'll rise to the highest weight class.

The Mexican fighter is set to move up to cruiserweight level to fight WBC champion Ilunga Makabu, following his victory against Caleb Plan t which unified the super middleweight class.

Already a world champion in four weight classes, Canelo has his eyes cast on a fifth weight triumph - but has played down the chances of moving to heavyweight level.

However, despite those recent comments, Canelo has previously issued his verdict on Fury and Joshua - praising the two Brits.

On Fury, Canelo praised the Gypsy King from recovering from two knockdowns to beat Deontay Wilder for the second time and said: "He's a good boxer, really good. He has a lot of skills."

With Joshua, who could link-up with Canelo's coach Eddy Reynoso before the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk, the Mexican issued a similar verdict by stating: "Really nice guy, he's a good boxer. He has a lot of skills, he's a good guy."

Joshua was on the hunt for a new coach ahead of the rematch with Usyk and Reynoso was among the many in the United States he met with following September's defeat.

However, he has stated he will remain with long-term trainer Rob McCracken - unless he doesn't want to - ahead of the rematch which is expected to take place in Spring.

Fury, meanwhile, was widely expected to see Dillian Whyte declared as a mandatory opponent in 2022 by the WBC but such action was not taken due to an ongoing arbitration with the London fighter.

Fury and Joshua could face-off themselves next year if Joshua is victorious in his rematch with Usyk.
