Canelo Alvarez has warned Conor McGregor not to even attempt to pursue a fight with him.
Alvarez will look to become the first-ever undisputed super-middleweight champion in boxing history when he fights undefeated Caleb Plant this weekend.
McGregor is currently sidelined after breaking his tibia against Dustin Poirier in their trilogy fight earlier this year and has fought just once in the ring as a professional, losing to ring legend Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
In an interview with BT Sport, Alvarez was shown pictures of boxers such as Anthony Joshua, Katie Taylor and Tyson Fury, all of whom he praised.
But when he was shown a picture of the UFC star, Alvarez gave a slightly different response.
"Oh my god, no. Don't try man, don't try," he said.
Whilst weighing in on Alvarez's 2017 fight with Golovkin, McGregor criticised the pound-for-pound No.1 for his footwork.
"I'm not really too much of a fan of either of those (Alvarez and Golovkin). I think Canelo's a little bit stuck, a little bit flat on his feet," he told Fight Hub TV.
"When I watch footage of him I see him just getting peppered, he has no feet under him."
Alvarez and Plant came to blows at their first press conference in September, but they were kept apart during their fight-week press conference to avoid another bust-up.
Alvarez will step into the ring for the fourth time in less than 12 months having outpointed Callum Smith last December and earned stoppage wins against Billy Joe Saunders and Avni Yildrim this year.
The oddsmakers heavily favour Alvarez to become the undisputed champion, whilst Plant is a considerable underdog for the fight.

Plant has dismissed any animosity with Alvarez despite their scuffle in September and has vowed to overcome the odds to shock the boxing world.
He said: “There’s not much time left and not much left to say. Leading up to this fight, Canelo said that the Mexicans don’t f*** around.
"That’s good to know, because where I’m from, we don’t f*** around either.
"It wasn’t my intention to get under Canelo’s skin at the first press conference. I think the media makes more of it than we do. We’ve both been in worse scuffles than that. When the bell rings, it’s completely different.
“I have to get the job done by any means necessary. That’s what me and my team have done so far to get to this point. Whether it’s boxing or in life, I’ve gotten here by any means necessary.
"I had opportunities to bow out, and I haven’t. I just can’t wait for the bell to ring Saturday."
