Candlelight concerts series to make its debut in Newcastle with Coldplay themed first show

A candlelight concert series is making a dazzling debut in Newcastle this January and February with a blend of live music and beautiful surroundings - such as a city museum - which are to be made even more attractive with a backdrop of flickering flames.

Following sell-out success, Fever, a live entertainment platform that creates immersive experiences, is bringing its classical concert series north with the aim of opening up access to music and involving local musicians and stunning buildings. And masses of candles are lit at the event to make the experience and settings even more magical.

For its city centre locations, it has chosen The Common Room at Neville Hall and Discovery Museum in Blandford Square to host the concerts and it is inviting audiences to enjoy the works of the greatest classical composers and modern compositions.

The Fever Candlelight Concerts launched in 2019 and have been performed in worldwide venues including churches, libraries and mansions with a repertoire ranging from Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven to the likes of The Beatles, Queen, Abba, Coldplay and Aretha Franklin and even movie soundtracks.

In Newcastle, Fever will be hosting a tribute to Coldplay by candlelight at Discovery Museum on January 25 and 26 at 6pm and 8.30pm. The next night it will follow up an earlier performance in Wood Hall at The Common Room with another 6pm show of Hans Zimmer's best works by candleight on January 27.

The next candlelit events will be Vivaldi's Four Seasons in The Common Room on February 11 at 6pm and 8.30pm then the final Hans Zimmer performances at the same times in the same location on February 22. For tickets, which start at £25, see here.
