Candidates for Cardiff Central announced plus bands and beer

In the news today, Cardiff Council leader Rodney Berman has announced that he will be campaigning to take Assembly Minister Jenny Randerson's seat at the next election, reports WalesOnline. He joins fellow councillor Nigel Howells who will also be running for the seat.

A freedom of information request has revealed that paving work underway on Queen Street is taking place because of flaws in the initial paving of the street in February this year, incurring total costs of more than £14,000.

And on the subject of FOIs, also worth updating that beatblogger Hannah Waldram's FOI request into the costs of the policing of the WDL/UAF protests in Cardiff has now been officially logged by South Wales Police.

Whitchurch residents are campaigning to have a rowdy pub's licence reviewed, reports WalesOnline.
