Candice Brown's heartbreaking message about feeling ‘hopeless’ after marriage breakdown

Candice Brown has shared a heartbreaking message about feeling hopeless following her marriage breakdown.

The winner of The Great British Bake Off 2016 series, has been married to tree surgeon Luke since 2018 and the pair renewed their wedding vows last year in Thailand.

The pair first met in 2012 when Candice was working in a bar and Liam studying at university.

Five years later romantic Liam popped the question in the supermarket car park where they stopped by on their very first date.

Candice and Liam then tied the knot at a chateau in France in September 2018.

Now, just days after the news of their split has surfaced, Candice has taken to social media to share a message of hopelessness.

The 35-year-old ‘liked’ a post by artist and author Charles Mackesy, which read: “Sometimes your mind plays tricks on you.

"It can tell you you’re no good, that it’s hopeless.”

The inspirational quote continues: “But remember this; you are loved, and important and you bring to this world things no one else can.

"So hold on.”

Candice's agent revealed to The Mirror: "I can confirm Candice and Liam separated earlier this year."

Days prior to the confirmation, Candice had posted a photo online of herself at a restaurant launch, and she was apparently not sporting her wedding ring.

At the time of their vow renewal in 2019, Candice noted: "We were tested quite early on in our relationship, and he didn't budge then.

"I wasn't very well, and following that I struggled with some mental health issues.

"It’s not something I really talk about... but Liam stayed by my side and that has always stuck with me."

Liam has now moved out of the flat above The Green Man pub in Eversholt, Milton Keynes where the pair lived together, reportedly to Bedfordshire.

Liam has now opened up about the reason behind their seemingly sudden split.

Breaking his silence on the sad news, Liam confirmed to the Mail Online: "There was nobody else involved. We have just sadly decided it wasn't working."

The tree surgeon explained that he had struggled to adjust to his partner's new celebrity lifestyle after she rose to fame as a contestant on the Great British Bake Off in 2016.

Following a series of long discussions, Liam said he and and Candice felt ending their two year marriage was the right decision for them.

Despite their marriage breakdown, Liam has described Candice as a 'lovely woman' and 'wonderful human being.'
