Candace Owens was defiant in her response to the Macrons, implying that her daily routine includes reading new lawsuits for breakfast.
Immediately after the news broke that Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron had hired the highly regarded law firm Clare Locke — known for handling defamation cases such as Dominion Voting’s successful lawsuit against Fox News, which resulted in $787 million in damages — Owens wanted to make it very clear to her fans that she won’t be stopped.
The former Daily Wire host posted a new YouTube video of her show in which she pointed at the screen and shouted, “You were born a man and you will die a man.” Owens claimed that she’s actually looking forward to court, particularly the discovery process. In the meantime, she says she wants just one thing from the French First Lady: evidence. “Give us a sample, I’ll send my doctors,” Owens continued, “How about just giving us some pictures, again, of you growing up… raising your children?”

But according to Time magazine, some of that evidence is already addressed in the lawsuit filed on behalf of the Macrons. The lawsuit includes a multitude of documentation, such as photos of a young Brigitte, a newspaper announcement of her birth, and facts about her with her children from her first marriage.
The couple’s lead counsel claims that before officially filing in Delaware, they tried to engage with Owens and even attempted to show her the very evidence she is now demanding. This certainly tracks with Owens’ own recollection of the saga, as she once retold an instance in which President Donald Trump called her after his chaotic meeting with Macron to personally ask her to drop the conspiracy theories regarding Brigitte’s gender at birth.

According to Owens, Trump told her he had seen Brigitte up close and was convinced “she looked like a woman.”

The lawsuit alleges that Owens has been promoting a series that paints a falsified history of Brigitte’s life, including but not limited to claims that she was born as a man and later transitioned, that she statutorily raped Emmanuel, and that she is actually Emmanuel’s biological father. The lawsuit further claims that Owens engaged in this series of defamation in pursuit of fame and fortune, noting that she even sold t-shirts with Brigitte’s face on them under a fake Time “Man of the Year” banner.
The Macrons’ lawyers are calling this entire ordeal a “campaign of global humiliation,” which certainly hasn’t been helped by the couple’s own public scuffles in the presence of media cameras. The lawsuit does not specify a definitive amount in damages but states that they are seeking monetary compensation the courts deem “just and proper.”
There are many lawsuits against media personalities and media companies circulating in the industry right now. There’s Governor Gavin Newsom’s lawsuit against Fox News, claiming he was misrepresented as having been called by President Trump. There’s also the controversial case that Paramount settled with Trump, followed by his new lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal, which ties him even closer to the Jeffrey Epstein controversy.
These lawsuits vary in nature and goals, but only Candace Owens seems excited to be sued for defamation—even in the face of mounting evidence against her claims.
