The final two rounds of fixtures in La Liga will go ahead as originally planned after a Spanish high court ruling on Thursday.

A players’ strike organised by the AFE union called on members to sit out two rounds of matches after the proposed introduction of a new TV rights law. However, that has now been ruled illegal, meaning the league programme is expected to be completed on time.

Barcelona, the league leaders, visit third-placed Atlético Madrid on Sunday knowing that victory would seal a first title since 2013. The Copa del Rey final will also go ahead as planned on 30 May, with Barça due to face Athletic Bilbao at the Camp Nou.
