Leeds United fans have had mixed reactions following the proposal to end the season from Maidenhead United owner Peter Griffin.
As reported on Leeds Live yesterday, Griffin wants the season to be played out via points per goal, and that teams should be given promotion as planned but with no relegation.
Following the suspension of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is currently no certainty if or how the Championship season will be concluded.
If Griffin’s suggestion was to be carried out, Leeds would be granted permission to the Premier League alongside Fulham and West Bromwich Albion.
However, Griffin’s preferred model has caused mixed reaction among United supporters. Here is how they reacted to yesterday’s story via Facebook.
Doc Smith: “Where do I add my vote in favour of this proposal? Come on FA, EFL, clubs and all other interested parties, show true leadership and stop dithering and make this decision!”
John Glynn: “No way. See the season out whenever that is. I want to see both Norwich and Villa get relegated whilst Leeds go up as Champs.”
Tris Spellacy: “Please stop with this nonsense, it’s either finished or null and void.”
Paul Carr: “Was suggested by many of the non-league teams whose season has been cancelled. Makes sense if the season can’t be completed. No way should the season be declared null and void.”
