Has summer actually started?
After the drenching of the last week, Sunday and Monday felt like it might have. There was a bit of a chill out of the sun but a lot of warmth in it.
Monday's maximum temperature was 21.2 degrees in Canberra, pretty well the average for this time of year.
And Canberrans were out in force over the weekend, doing what Canberrans do: picnic and chat and cycle and throw balls for a dog to retrieve.
"It's beautiful being out," Shannon Forrest said as she and her partner Nathan threw a ball into the lake for Cailin to fetch.
"The dog had a swim but we got a bit wet, though."
"It's nice to have such a warm, sunny day, with everyone else being out and about," Rhiannon Forrest said as she picnicked. "It's just nice to see the community again."
The warmth should continue towards the end of the week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology - but with a slight dip today. There's a high chance of rain today, too.
The likelihood for the whole summer is wetter than usual and not warmer than usual.
Last summer was the wettest and coolest for five years - which was no doubt a relief after the drought and bushfires.
We had La Nina to thank for that.
It happens when the temperatures of different parts of the Pacific increases moisture in the atmosphere and that comes down as rain in Australia.
Last month was the wettest September in Canberra since 2016.
