They're like the Logies, except looks don't matter, and, when it comes to voting, nor do the punters.
The Australian Commercial Radio Awards will be one of the first big award shows to make a 2022 comeback, and Canberra's radio stars are up for several big gongs.
Finalists for the February 13 event have just been announced, with the Wilko Show with Courts Summer Breakfast (hosted by Neil Wilcock, Courtenay Kneen and Matthew Heap) on Mix 106.3, up for best syndicated Australian program.
Chris Coleman, also from Mix 106.3 is up for best sports presenter, Gemma Maddox from Hit 104.7 for best music presenter, and Stephen Cenatiempo from 2CC for Best Talk and Best Current Affairs. Paul Holmes from 2CA and Ellie Angel-Mobbs from Hit 104.7 are both in the running for Best Entertainment Presenter.
Elsewhere in the lineup is the usual cast of familiar faces and heavy hitters: previous winners of the metro FM top prize Brendan Jones and Amanda Keller (Jonesy and Amanda on WSFM, Sydney) are in the running against six-time winners Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson (The Kyle and Jackie O Show on KIIS 106.5, Sydney).
Drive show team Kate Ritchie, Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey (Kate, Tim & Joel, Nova Network, Sydney) have also been nominated alongside Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little (Carrie and Tommy, Hit Network, Melbourne).
Unlike the Logies, nominees are peer judged by industry members.
