Canberra has recorded its coldest morning of the year with the temperature dropping below zero for the first time in 2020.
The mercury reached minus 1.4 degrees at Canberra Airport just after 6am on Monday.
The Bureau of Meteorology said Monday's minimum was four degrees below the average low for May.
However, it hasn't quite broken temperature records, with the coldest May temperature being even lower at minus 7.5.
Widespread frost was also seen across Canberra.
Meteorologist Helen Reid said the low temperatures were driven by a high-pressure system that was forming across south-east Australia.
"As the wind eased over the last few days, with clear skies and light winds, that's allowed for the temperature to get quite cool," she said.
"The cold has been a bit more notable without the wind."
Ms Reid said the high-pressure system was sitting behind the cold front that moved through the ACT late last week, which brought strong winds and cold temperatures.
The cold front brought with it winds of up to 90km/h in some areas, while southern parts of the ACT such as Corin Forest received a dusting of snow.
The 'scrape the ice off your windscreen season' has returned, with both Canberra Airport and Tuggeranong registering a frosty -1.4 degrees this morning.

While the temperatures on Monday may be colder than those seen on the weekend, snow was not expected to fall.
Ms Reid said the wind was not expected to reach the speeds seen several days ago.
"The alpine region could have another severe weather warning situation, but the ACT itself is expected to be less windy," she said.
The high-pressure system is set to stick around for the next few days, however, the temperatures aren't forecast to be as cold as those on Monday morning.
"It will get gradually warmer over the next day or two and there'll be chilly mornings but not quite as cold," Ms Reid said.
"There's the possibility of frost, getting to only 2 degrees tomorrow morning."
The high-pressure system will give way to another cold front later in the week, but Ms Reid said it wasn't likely it would be as severe as the one seen in Canberra last week.
Monday will see the temperature rise to a top of 16 after its frosty start."
Frost is also expected on Tuesday morning with a low of 2 and a top of 17 with sunny conditions expected.
Minimum temperatures will remain in single digits for the rest of the week, getting down to 3 on Wednesday and 6 on Thursday.
