Canberra Raiders centre Curtis Scott charged with assault after alleged punch at Kokomo's nightclub

CCTV footage of an incident at Kokomo's nightclub allegedly involving Canberra Raiders centre Curtis Scott.

Canberra Raiders player Curtis Scott has been charged with assault over an alleged incident at a nightclub earlier this year.

Following the alleged assault, Scott was suspended by the NRL for three matches and was last month issued with a breach notice, including a fine of $15,000 for "bringing the league into disrepute".

CCTV footage from Civic nightspot Kokomo's allegedly shows Scott punching another man in the early hours of Sunday May 30.

Today, police confirmed the 23-year-old had been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Scott has not played since he was stood down by the Raiders after footage of the alleged assault was released.

But it was not until the alleged victim lodged a formal complaint with police in June, weeks after the alleged assault, that an investigation was launched and charges were laid.

Scott will face court over the alleged assault later this month.

He received a separate fine for alleged public drunkenness while he was out drinking on Australia Day last year.

He had initially been charged with assaulting a police officer but those charges were dismissed.

During the court case, bodycam footage showed him asleep on the street in Sydney when he was approached by police, tasered, handcuffed and capsicum sprayed.

He has been given five working days to respond to the latest breach notice.
