Canberra Night Noodle Markets 2021 cancelled

The Canberra Night Noodle Markets will not go ahead next year.

The event, which runs alongside the Enlighten Festival, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Event organisers had worked to find a way to deliver the event in a safe and socially responsible way while "maintaining an event experience that event goers expect and deserve" but this was not possible.

Last month, Chief Minister Andrew Barr said the ongoing pandemic had forced the ACT government to rethink how it held major events.

It came as the National Multicultural Festival was postponed and Summernats was forced to hold a scaled back event in March.

The Enlighten Festival can proceed but with changes.
