Canberra had the highest auction clearance rate in Australia at the weekend

Canberra had the highest auction clearance rate in Australia at the weekend, with 86.8 per cent of homes at auction sold.

There were 57 sales, with a median selling price of $824,000.

A total of 1454 homes were listed for sale, with 508 new listings.

Canberra houses were on the market for a median of 34 days, the third shortest time of all capital cities in Australia.

Hobart homes were quickest off the mark, spending 24 days on the market while Darwin residences were listed for a median of 48 days.

The biggest sale of the weekend was the four-bedroom and two-bathroom abode at 58 Musgrave Street at Yarralumla, which went for $2.62 million.

A five bedroom and three bathroom house at 5 Dive Place in Nicholls sold for $1.664 million.
