Canberra goes another day with no new coronavirus cases

The number of people who still have coronavirus in the ACT has dropped to just eight, after another patient made a recovery from the virus overnight.

It comes as the ACT recorded yet another 24 hours without a new confirmed case of COVID-19.

The total number of cases that had been confirmed in the ACT remains at 104 with 93 having recovered from the virus and released from self-isolation, up from 92 on Tuesday.

One patient remains in Canberra Hospital while another seven patients are self-isolating at home.

The death toll still stands at three.

The ACT has recorded just one new case of coronavirus in the past nine days.

ACT Health says more than 7100 negative tests have been carried out since the start of the coronavirus outbreak.

The ACT's chief health officer Dr Kerryn Coleman said while the lack of new cases was good news, she warned of complacency in the community.

"To continue our good work to help stop the spread of COVID-19, I again ask Canberrans not to use playgrounds, skate parks, outdoor exercise stations and dog parks at the moment," Dr Coleman said.

"The weather in the ACT is lovely this week, so getting some exercise each day - even just going for a walk outside for some fresh air is important for both your physical and mental well-being."

Dr Coleman urged Canberrans to keep exercising social distancing measures.
