Canadian coffee and doughnut chain Tim Hortons drive-thru coming to Stockport

Canadian coffee and doughnut chain Tim Hortons is opening a new drive-thru restaurant in Stockport.

The brand - famous for its Timbits mini doughnuts and Iced Capp frozen coffees - is coming soon to Stockport Retail Park, on Great Portwood Street.

It will be the fifth Tim Hortons restaurant to open in Greater Manchester, after stores in Salford, Rusholme, Bury and Altrincham.

Meanwhile, the company is also opening a new drive-thru store at the Gemini8 Business Park, in Warrington, which will be the Cheshire town's second Tim Hortons.

Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer at Tim Hortons UK and Ireland, said: "We’re thrilled to be able to bring two brand-new drive-thru restaurants to the north west, our first in Stockport, and our second restaurant within Warrington.

"Our guests have been very keen to get more drive thru options locally and we’re really looking forward to being that bit closer to our fans.

“We are proud to be investing in the local community and know that there is a wealth of talent, so we will be looking to recruit a variety of full and part-time roles very soon.

"Not only that, but we encourage local fans of Tim Hortons to keep an eye out for more news as we develop our plans for a big opening.”

Tim Hortons says it hopes to open restaurants in every major town and city in the UK by the end of next year, creating more than 2,000 jobs nationwide.

Forty new jobs will be created at the Stockport store, with a mix of full-time and part-time work on offer, while the company promises progression and training opportunities.
