Canada opened their third ever World Cup campaign with a point against Bosnia and Herzegovina at the BMO Field in Toronto, Ontario. The Reds are playing in just their third ever World Cup, and are hoping to progress past the group stages for the first time in their history at their home tournament. Cyle Larin snatched a point for Les Rouges after an entertaining affair that saw Bosnia take the lead in a first half that lacked real quality.
Jovo Lukic nodded home after Sead Kolasinac’s near-post flick-on from a corner unlocked Jesse Marsch’s hosts, who continued to knock on the door in search of that elusive equaliser. The former Leeds United manager made a surprising call to haul of his two star players - Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan - on the hour as his side chased a leveller, but his three substitutes that came on before Larin’s equaliser all made a huge impact.
None of them made as big a splash as Larin, the Southampton striker, who lashed home beyond Nikola Vasilj to earn Canada’s first ever point at a World Cup finals.

ITV have flown their presenters and pundits to Brooklyn, New York, with their studio offering a backdrop of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty.
Meanwhile, the BBC will broadcast from Media City in Salford - in a move that has attracted plenty of criticism.

Former Arsenal star Thomas Partey will play no part in Ghana’s first World Cup game in Toronto after being denied entry to Canada.
It comes as the former Gunners midfielder, now of Villarreal, awaits a UK trial accused of seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
He has pleased not guilty to all charges and is expected to go on trial in June 2027.
Partey, 32, was included in his country’s squad for the tournament in the United States, Canada and Mexico earlier this month and arrived in Washington D.C. with team-mates on June 4.
