Can you still get MLB tickets to see the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees in London?

Liverpool will be travelling to Boston this summer to play a friendly at the famous Fenway Park stadium.

Fenway Sports Group owns both Liverpool and Boston Red Sox, so the match will be a lucrative one for the owners. But there is also a way Liverpool fans can see the baseball team this year in England.

The New York Yankees and the 2018 World Series Winners The Boston Red Sox will face each other in front of a UK crowd at the end of this month.

A two-game series will take place over two days at the end of this month, Saturday and Sunday June 29 and 30. The Boston Red Sox will be the officially designated 'home side' for both games.

While most tickets for each of the day have already been snapped up by eager supporters, a select few do still remain through the Ticketmaster website.

The rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees is one of the fiercest in all of sport and spans back over 100 seasons.

One of the most significant incidents between the two came in 1919 when Red Sox owner of the time Harry Frazee sold star player Babe Ruth.

The transfer sparked what became known as the 'Curse of the Bambino' - an 86-year period where the Red Sox failed to win a World Series.

Within that 86 year period, the Yankees took a stronghold on the sport. They were crowned World Series Champion a staggering 26 times before the Red Sox won another in 2004.

In the 15 years since the curse was broken, the Red Sox have, however, had the edge. They have won a further three World Series to the Yankees' one.
