Can you still buy a real Christmas tree during second lockdown?

Even if lockdown is extended, you should still be able to pick up a real Christmas tree this year.

Hopefully, the lockdown will be lifted and most shops will reopen on December 3.

But if it is extended there will places open which sell Christmas trees.

Similarly, there are options now for those who like putting their tree up early.

Garden centres, hardware stores and farm shops are allowed to remain open throughout the November lockdown.

In the original March to July lockdown, garden centres were closed, but the Government has confirmed they can remain open this time.

Farm shops like Brocksbushes, near Corbridge - as food retailers - are also allowed to stay open.

Brocksbushes will start selling real Christmas trees from Saturday, November 28.

Dobbies, which has garden centres in Morpeth, Northumberland; Ponteland, near Newcastle and Birtley, near Gateshead remains open. Customers will welcome to visit its garden centres to view trees ahead of buying. They can also order online.

Cowells Garden Centre, in Woolsington, near Newcastle, is also open and will be selling Christmas trees, which customers can preorder.

Hardware stores like B&Q are also allowed to remain open and will be stocking Christmas trees.

If the lockdown is lifted as planned, then pop-up Christmas tree sellers will be able to set up stalls, while supermarkets are another option for those looking to buy a real tree.
