This year saw the driving theory test pass rate fall to its lowest level in a decade.
Just 47.4 per cent of learner drivers managed to pass the test in a 12-month 2018/19 period.
This figure has fallen gradually from the 65.4 per cent pass rate back in 2008/2009.
But, of course, many drivers on the road have never had to take the test at all as it was only introduced in 1996.
For those driving since then, a version has existed alongside the practical test for learners to prove they know the rules of the road.
Today, you need to answer 86% of questions correctly to pass the multiple-choice part of the theory test.
