Can you name the city centre stores from these old photos?

Liverpool city centre has changed in many ways over the years as trends change and stores come and go.

From the closure of Littlewoods and Woolworths to more dramatic changes like the development of Liverpool ONE, parts of the city look unrecognisable today.

But can you remember what the city centre used to look like?

These old photos show some of the businesses that were once based on Bold Street, Church Street, Lord Street and Whitechapel.

Although the stores pictured have now sadly closed their doors, some of the buildings they were in have barely changed on the outside since they were first built.

Do you think you could recognise the stores that call them home today?

We've delved into the ECHO archive to find a range of photos from years gone by.

Put your knowledge to the test by trying our city centre quiz below.
