Can you help to find stolen pony Basil?

The hunt is on to find a rescue pony stolen from his paddock in Berkeley.

Basil, a Miniature Shetland who is eight hands high and has no left eye, disappeared from his paddock around 6.15pm on May 21.

He is piebald (with irregular patches of two colours) and is microchipped to UK animal welfare charity Blue Cross.

Ali Buck, 57, a former NHS Worker, said: "He is on loan to me from the Blue Cross and is a rescue so already nervous....he will be very scared right now without his companion and familiar territory.

"The Blue Cross has alerted police forces countrywide, animal charities, local councils, Horsewatch - let’s fill in the gaps by sharing and going viral!"

Anyone with information us urged to call Gloucestershire Police.

Ali added: "I’m not interested in prosecutions or reprisals I just want my scared little pony back. If you’ve got him, leave him somewhere safe where he can be easily found. Please."
