Can you go to church with your Christmas bubble?

Midnight Mass and Christmas Day services are an annual tradition for many.

Christmas is a time of reflection as well as of celebration as it marks the birth of Jesus.

But this year, celebrations will be somewhat toned down for many as a challenging year continues to bring new changes to restrictions.

From 2 December, you can attend places of worship in all tiers. The rules on who you can meet with whilst at places of worship will depend on your tier.

On December 25, you may also attend a place of worship with members of your Christmas bubble if you choose to form one.

You should continue to practise safe behaviours including making space between members of different households wherever you can.

However, residents in Tier 4 areas, a legal order is in place to 'stay home' with measures emulating those of the national lockdown.
