Can you give friendly pooch Perry his forever home?

Animal welfare experts are appealing to find a new home for a friendly Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.

Six-year-old Perry is currently living at Dogs Trust’s West Calder Rehoming Centre and the centre has brought Perry into the spotlight this month as he needs a special kind of home with a little extra love to share.

This month-long focus on Perry will culminate in the latest monthly ‘Spotlight Sunday’ which takes place at the centre on Sunday (November 3) from 12pm to 4pm.

The special event provides the perfect opportunity to find out more about Perry and the type of home he needs.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said Perry is an affectionate pooch who is playful and who likes to get out and about.

She added: “This friendly boy loves to say hello to everyone he meets and get plenty of attention.

“Perry is an active pooch and he loves to set off for walks in the countryside, run around with his toys and jump into the car for adventures.

“He enjoys sitting by the window watching the world go by and he would love his own garden where he can play and relax in the sunshine.

“Perry is looking for new owners who will be home throughout the day to keep him company and help him get used to his new routine.”

Dogs Trust’s spokeswoman added that Perry needs a new owner who will understand his needs and help him adapt to his new home.

He will need to have a home away from other dogs.

She said: “While he adores meeting people, Perry can be uncomfortable around other dogs and he will need to be the only pet in the home.

“He is happy to live with children aged 14 years old and above.

“Perry has a lot of love to give but has sadly been waiting for some time to find his forever home.”

If you think you could provide the perfect home for Perry, or any of the other 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, head along to Spotlight Sunday or please contact the centre on 01506 873459.
