Can you give Blue the lurcher a loving new forever home?

Animal welfare experts are appealing to find a new home a special dog in their care.

Blue is a lurcher who is currently living at Dogs Trust’s West Calder Rehoming Centre.

The rehoming centre have brought Blue into the spotlight this month as he needs a special kind of home with a little extra love to share.

This focus on Blue will culminate in the latest ‘Spotlight Sunday’ which takes place at the centre on Sunday (March 22) from noon to 4pm.

It provides the perfect opportunity to find out much more about Blue and the type of home he is looking for.

A spokeswoman for Dogs Trust said: “Blue is six years old and is carers say he is always searching for ways to have fun.

“This lively lurcher loves nothing more than running around the garden chasing after his favourite teddy bear. Blue is a very sweet and loyal pooch with people he knows and trusts and he loves getting his family involved in games.

“He is house trained, loves setting off for walks around the countryside and he will happily jump into the car to seek out new adventures.

“Blue is a sensitive dog and can be worried around new people or in unfamiliar situations.

“He needs patient and understanding owners to take their time building up a loving bond with him. Blue’s new owners will need to have experience with dogs and be able to provide him with a quiet, adult-only home in a rural area where he is the only pet at home.

“Blue would be happiest with owners who are home throughout the day to keep him company and can help settle him into his new routine. Blue has a wonderful nature and is sure to thrive in a home which can provide him with a little extra TLC.”

If you think you could provide the perfect home for Blue, or any of the other 50 dogs currently available for rehoming, head along to Spotlight Sunday or contact the centre on 01506 873459.
