Can you give a new home to sweet-natured pooch Fern?

A sweet-natured young dog is looking for a new place to call home.

Animal welfare experts are appealing for a new owner for Fern a two-year-old Border Collie who is currently living at Dogs Trust West Calder Rehoming Centre.

A spokesperson for Dogs trust said: “This sweet and gentle girl loves nothing more than being in the company of the one she loves.

“Fern is originally from a farm and has not had much experience of the world. She is looking for a quiet rural home where it is peaceful, and she can feel safe and relaxed.

“Fern would like experienced owners who are familiar and knowledgeable about the breed.

“She can be worried when you first meet her and does take time to build a friendship.

“She loves to play with her ball and her favourite thing is to have her belly rubbed or her ears tickled. Like a lot of collies,

“Fern does have a strong desire to chase after fast moving objects so will need her own secure garden where she can spend time off her lead.

“Fern has never lived in a house before and will need her owners to help her develop some life skills and keep her company during the day.”

If you think you can offer Fern or any of the other 50 dogs currently available for rehoming please contact the centre on 01506 873459.

You can also follow Dogs Trust West Calder on Twitter @DT_WestCalder for regular updates on events and dogs available for rehoming.

Please look at the Dogs Trust website for access during the coronavirus outbreak.
