William Saliba is still awaiting his Arsenal debut.
The centre-back is yet to feature for the Gunners in competitive competition since he joined the club ona £27million deal from Saint-Etienne in 2019.
Saliba did return to Saint-Etienne for his first season as a Gunners player, so he has only been available this season, but Mikel Arteta is yet to call upon the 19-year-old.
An opportunity could be drawing closer, though. Rob Holding picking up a hamstring injury during the warm-u ahead of Arsenal's defeat to Manchester City.
But Saliba will not be able to feature for Arsenal on Thursday night for their Europa League opener against Rapid Wien.
That's because Arteta decided not to include the Frenchman in his squad for the European competition.
As part of the Europa League rules, Arsenal has to submit a 25-man squad made up of 17 unrestricted choices and eight players who are 'locally-trained'.
As he has not been at the club for two years, Saliba does not qualify for the B list, so he would have to have been included in the 25-man squad to be eligible to play.
To qualify for the B list, players have to be born after 1 January 1998 and have played for the club for two years or more.
Saliba meets the former requirement but not the latter, only signing for the Gunners in 2019.
That means any minutes he picks up between now and February will have to be in the Premier League or domestic competitions.
Though, Should Arsenal progress to the Round of 32, Arteta will be able to change his Europa League squad and Saliba could be included for the knockout stages.
