'Can't wait to buy the league': Newcastle United fans react to reported Middle East takeover

Tyneside has been rocked on the Bank Holiday weekend, as reports broke on Sunday evening that claimed a Middle Eastern billionaire had completed a £350m takeover of Newcastle United.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan, the cousin of Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour and the man behind a failed £2billion bid for Liverpool last summer, has reportedly got a deal over the line that would significantly alter the picture heading into the summer transfer window.

The past few weeks have been dominated by talk of Rafael Benitez's future and whether an agreement would be reached but this, if correct, would change the story completely.

Newcastle fans have been here before with claims of a takeover, and are trying not to get too excited, but it's difficult to keep a lid on your emotions when a seismic shift is said to have occured.
