Can’t make it to Coachella this year? Don’t worry, you can watch it all on YouTube Music

Coachella is the mecca of all US festivals: a chance to dance it out in the majestic Californian dessert, surrounded by beautiful people, and lots of Instagram potential.

But, wow, does it cost a lot. Tickets are at least $429 (£327) and that’s before you add on flights to California, accommodation, food, drink and at least six outfit changes.

If you’re going to be stuck in the UK over the two Coachella weekends then don’t fret, YouTube Music has got your back.

For the past nine years, YouTube has been streaming the magic of Coachella’s first weekend to millions around the world, but this time it’s switching the game.

In 2019, you’ll be able to tune in to Coachella Curated, a new partnership between Coachella and YouTube Music, which offers a curated livestream of the second weekend, so you can now get the full festival experience of both weekends.

There will be original content, such as artist commentary and mini-documentaries, as well as live performances and in-studio interviews with some of the weekend’s best performers.

Highlights will certainly include Childish Gambino, Ariana Granda and Kacey Musgraves.

How to watch Coachella 2019 on YouTube

To tune into the general live stream, you’ll want to watch on the first weekend, which starts today (April 12) and runs until Sunday.

You can catch all the action on Coachella’s YouTube channel or the YouTube Music app.

The music starts from midnight BST tonight (4pm PT) and will run throughout the weekend.

There’s also going to be a premiere of the new Childish Gambino film, Guava Island, featuring Rihanna.

Details for the second weekend’s scheduling are yet to be announced, but the festival’s YouTube channel and the YouTube Music app will be the place to go.

If you’re lucky, you might be able to capture digital influencer Miquela’s first appearance at the festival, and the first time hosting on video. The AI will be carrying out interviews with performers like J Balvin and King Princess.

Nothing says 2019 festival like an AI influencer.
