'Can't deal' - Former boss on Fawaz Al Hasawi's hire and fire culture at Nottingham Forest

Dougie Freedman has given his verdict on Nottingham Forest's hire and fire culture under former owner Fawaz Al Hasawi - and revealed how he tried to end the cycle.

Freedman was one of several managers axed by the Kuwaiti.

He replaced Stuart Pearce in the City Ground hotseat in February 2015, but only lasted 13 months.

Reflecting on his reign, Freedman told The Athletic: “The core of the dressing room was just honest guys by the end. There was no more bulls**t left in the team.

"The bulls**t was what was getting managers the sack at Forest.

"I thought, ‘I can’t deal with bulls**t’, so I just wanted a core of solid lads who understood that training was important, that set-pieces were important and that there was no room for bull.

"If you are not very good, I am going to tell you. If you are doing well, I am going to tell you."
