Can Ryan Glasgow return to form with Bengals in 2019?

Ryan Glasgow seemed on his way to a breakout season in 2019 with the Cincinnati Bengals, shaking off an up-and-down rookie season with quality play.

But it didn’t last long, as Glasgow only made it three games into the season before suffering a season-ending injury.

Even so, as Pro Football Focus noted above, Glasgow’s first three games were notable. He was essentially playing the same number of snaps as Andrew Billings and not only was he playing against good lines like those fielded by Indianapolis and Baltimore, the defense took a notable dip once he left the rotation.

Still, questions remain. A new coaching staff now has to decide whether Glasgow has a role. The front office also added Renell Wren to the mix via the draft.

Glasgow has said he expected to be fully ready by training camp, which is an encouraging sign. But new faces pepper the roster alongside new coaches, so it might end up feeling like a rookie audition again.

Going into his third season, Glasgow is a former fourth-round pick most might not have on the mind over the course of the summer. But if a combination of the upside he flashed last year plus proper usage from a new staff proves to be a fruitful marriage, he might quickly become an unexpected breakout.
