Can Raiders WR Antonio Brown beat Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. in Week 1?

The Raiders will open up the 2019 season at home on Monday Night Football against a familiar foe; the Denver Broncos.

In that game, there will be many exciting matchups to watch, such as Trent Brown against Von Miller, Courtland Sutton versus Gareon Conley, etc. But all eyes will be on new Raiders’ wide receiver Antonio Brown and the recently-paid Chris Harris Jr. of the Denver Broncos.

In three out of the last four matchups, Harris has held Brown in check. That shouldn’t be a surprise considering how well he matches up against smaller receivers. But Brown has had success against him in the past, catching 12 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns in their 2015 meeting, according to Pro Football Focus.

The winner of this matchup will likely determine the outcome of this game. If Brown can find a way to make plays on Harris and move the chains, the Raiders should have a significant advantage on offense. But if Harris can lock down Brown like he did in 2011, 2012 and 2018, Oakland could be in for some trouble.
