Touching tributes have been left at the scene where a man tragically died from a gunshot wound close to a primary school.
A can of Pepsi, flowers, sweets, candles and a large "BROTHER" wreath were laid on a bench at Mab Lane Community Woodland in West Derby .
John Deens died at the scene, at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 24, after police were called to reports that a man had been shot .
The 32-year-old was unresponsive when emergency services arrived before an investigation was launched into the death .

Almost a week on, a hoard of heartbreaking and poignant items have been left at the scene in memory of him.
Two pictures and a large floral arrangement were left by loved ones, among other large bouquets with messages to John attached.
One note said: "To John, RIP mate. Am gonna miss you so much. I hope you're at peace now."
Another said: "Goodnight John Deens.

"Until we meet again. Childhood friend. Sleep tight mucker."
Tributes to Mr Deens have also flooded in on social media after the news of the incident.
Sue Kelly Squires said: "So sad R.I.P. Thoughts are with his family... so young."
Steven Shanley also said: "Poor bloke. RIP. Condolences to his family and friends."

David Crampton added: "Rip deensey lad."
A gun was recovered by police at the scene and it is being forensically examined.
Merseyside Police has confirmed that Mr Deens' death is not being treated as suspicious and the ECHO understands that officers are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Merseyside Police can confirm the death of a man in West Derby on Tuesday afternoon (24 September 2019) is not being treated a suspicious.

"Officers were called to park land off Mab Lane at around 2.30pm following reports that a man had suffered a gunshot wound.
"Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was found to be unresponsive and he was pronounced dead by paramedics.
"A firearm was recovered from the scene and is being forensically examined.
"The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Mr Deens' family are currently being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
