Can Newcastle United regain momentum in 2020? Predict the early Premier League fixtures

If a week is a long time in politics, the Premier League Christmas fixture list must have felt like a month for Steve Bruce and Newcastle United.

The 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, and the scenes which followed Miguel Almiron's first goal for the club on December 21, feel like a lifetime away following a brutal Christmas period which saw the Magpies lose to Manchester United, Everton and Leicester City, plus draw at League One Rochdale in the FA Cup.

That victory over Roy Hodgson's side had lifted Newcastle to ninth in the Premier League, and while results the following day saw them drop to 10th, they spent Christmas Day in the top half of the table.

Such is the tight nature of the top flight this term that a few bad results can have a major impact on the standings.

Bruce's men are now 13th, with a more-than-respectable 25 points, but have some tough games on the horizon.

So can they recapture their pre-Christmas form which saw them record wins over the likes of Sheffield United and Southampton, plus pick up that battling point against champions Manchester City?

Newcastle have to go to Wolves and Everton, and face Chelsea at home before the transfer window closes.

How will they do? You can predict each Premier League result for January above to see how the Magpies will fare.

We'll then produce a league table based on your predictions to see how it will look come the end of the month.
