Can Ed Oliver take the Bills’ defense to the next level?

Buffalo Bills rookie defensive tackle Ed Oliver may have been the most interesting man in the 2019 draft class. He was once considered a candidate to go No. 1 overall before injuries derailed his final college season. That led to animosity between Oliver and his coach, and sent him dropping down the draft boards. He fell to ninth overall, and he’ll pursue his football dream in football in Buffalo.

Ed Oliver should help the Bills go from great to unstoppable. Their passing defense was the best in the NFL last season, but their run defense was in the middle of the pack. Oliver can help them on both fronts. He was actually compared to Aaron Donald in the pre-draft process, mostly because he’s an undersized and gifted pass-rusher – but Oliver’s just as talented as a run defender and can really anchor the middle of the line.
