Can-Am's Older Side-by-Side Just Became the Best Deal for a HVAC-Equipped UTV

Folks, I don't know if you've realized this, but everything is quite expensive these days. Yes, that's sarcasm, as how can you not understand that truism when you exist in the world as a fully-fledged human. Everything from gas to electricity to food to water to what have you feels like you need to get a second, third, or fourth job just to afford.

It's frustrating, to say the least, and it's caused quite a few companies from around the world to rethink their strategies or lose some sleep due to market and revenue loss. But when I come across genuine deals, things that everyone should know about, I know I have to write about them, as it helps the consumer.

Now, we all know that most side-by-sides have become tools for many of us. They're nearly as important as trucks are for those who ranch, farm, hunt, or otherwise use and abuse them, as the trucks they're replacing have become too unaffordable to use in these ways themselves. So when I saw that Can-Am's last-generation Defender, something the brand will continue to make for the foreseeable future, now offers an HVAC-equipped model for the best price around, I knew I had to bring it to the people.

How cheap? Hella cheap.

The Defender HD10, which I've driven quite a lot, was quasi—but not really—replaced by the Defender HD11 earlier this year. And while the two are pretty far apart in my tests and opinions, the last model wasn't a bad performer at all, it's just that the new one is new and learned a lot of lessons from the prior model, smoothing out the edges and refining the product to where it is for today. But that HD10 was a great rig, and one that'll absolutely put in the work for you.

And do so as one of the best deals on the market in terms of getting you an HVAC-equipped cab in both two or four doors.

According to Can-Am's press release, "Synonymous with hard work, grit and determination, the Can-Am Defender lineup is trusted by farmers, ranchers and riders across the world. The new Defender DPS CAB HD10 with HVAC package brings the proven performance and reliability of the Defender platform to more riders, thanks to a lower price point. Equipped with a full cab, heating, venting and air-conditioning, the proven Rotax HD10 powertrain, a reliable CVT transmission and a robust chassis, this new package continues to deliver on the workhorse capability and toughness that the Defender is known for."

How affordable you ask? The 2026 Defender DPS Cab HD10, in two-door fashion, will start at $23,999, and the four-door Defender MAX DPS Cab HD10 will set you back $27,299. Those are super deals for those who need them and want the extra security of the warmth or cooling of HVAC when they're out in the field. I know a few folks who'll likely be jumping on these in the coming months, and one just might be me...
