Campus sports facilities closed across Perth and Kinross in COVID19 action

The leisure facilities run by Live Active Leisure (LAL) at the seven campus venues across Perth and Kinross closed at 6pm on Tuesday, March 17 and will keep the public out until after the Easter holidays because of coronavirus.

LAL has so far kept opted to keep its other venues open but the sports halls and pools attached to schools are no longer operating.

In a coronavirus update issued late on Tuesday 17, Paul Cromwell CEO Live Active Leisure wrote: “We continue to follow government advice during these unprecedented and challenging times.

“The latest government advice is to ‘avoid all pubs, clubs and theatres’.  At this time we have not been given any directive to close our venues.

"However, Perth and Kinross Council have advised that campus facilities will close to the public from 6pm on Tuesday, March 17 and will not reopen until after the Easter holidays at the earliest.

“This move is intended to reduce the number of external visitors who come into contact with school staff and pupils.

“As such, our facilities within North Inch Community Campus, Strathearn Community Campus, Breadalbane Community Campus, Loch Leven Community Campus, Blairgowrie Community Campus, Blairgowrie Recreation Centre and Glenearn Community Campus will be closed from 6pm today (March 17, 2020).

“All other Live Active venues will remain open as normal with continued increased measures on cleanliness and personal hygiene, to protect both our customers and staff.”
